Mailshop (MailGroup) are using SalesForce Cloud Commerce as their backend, but they needed more flexibility on the front-end, which would allow them to serve their customers better and across multi-device platforms. Their front-end requirements were too complex for Salesforce capabilities, and they needed this to be very agile and using a logic which was not available to them through their existing solution.
This would have needed a lot of heavy and very complex development using Salesforce, and also wouldn’t have all the functionality they needed, especially across the multiple devices. They decided to use Alegra’s eCommerce Storefront Solution (Headless CMS), to help them launch tailored sites for multiple verticals, saving them months of development time, as well as high costs on Salesforces’ pricing.
They were able to launch new store fronts within a matter of weeks, using our Page Builder solution, not only on the web, but also on mobile devices, including Progressive Web Application (PWA), native IOS as well as native Android.
They needed a multi-level payment gateway solution, which allowed the vendors selling their products and services, to have their split of the profits calculated and be paid directly and automatically, without the need for Mailshop to manually process the payments. Each deal displayed on the page would have complex discounts and payment options allocated to it, as well as a time based discount, which also included a countdown, all of which was developed using Alegra’s suite.
